I can hide you in my eyes,
But promise me you won’t show;
Or I can give you a space in my heart,
But please don’t make it too dark.
I can disguise you in my words,
Do not fill up the space between lines;
I can conceal you in my smile,
As long as you don’t turn into frown.
I can make you a privileged guest,
But please don’t become my life.
I can feed you and listen to you,
As long as you promise to leave.
There’s only so much I can do,
To treat you well and comfort you;
There’s only so much room in my life to share,
And that’s reserved for the happy days ahead!
